Tai Chi classes are in italian Tai Chi Chuan is one of the oldest martial arts. In addition to being a complete personal defense technique, it performs an important therapeutic action, as it activates the internal energies through particular methods and considerably develops the ability to concentrate. Tai Chi Chuan is not based on heavy muscle exercises, but develops on the basis of slow and harmonious movements that, through the use of internal energy (the “Chi”) and concentration, are of immediate benefit, bringing vigor to the body and serenity to the spirit. Master Gaetano Lauria has been practicing martial arts for forty years. During sixteen years he was one of the main students of Master Chang Dzu Yao, one of the greatest Masters of Tai Chi Chuan and Shaolin Chuan, who passed away in 1992. For the past thirty years he has taught Tai Chi Chuan and Shaolin Chuan. In 1984 he resumed the study of karate and in particular of the GoJu Ryu style of Okinawa under the guidance of Master Tosho Tamano, and in 1987 reached the degree of black belt 1st Dan. Later he became the responsible for Italy of Association Francaise Karate-Do GoJu Ryu of Okinawa. In 1994 he founded the Italian Association Kung Fu from which he resigned in 2014 to found under the guidance of his Masters, Ven. Thamthog Rinpoce and Ven. Khenrab Rinpoche, the new school Luohan Shiba Shou School of Kung Fu (www.lskf.org) with the aim of reinforcing the traditional teaching method and respecting the ancient link between Buddhism and the martial arts. Thanks to his profound experience and to the teachings he has received, Maestro Lauria has managed to spread the practice of Kung Fu not only under the exclusive aspect of combat, but also highlighting its therapeutic aspect.
